EP – 130 Permission to be Creative

Our conversation with Frank Pomata

The Cool Grandpa Podcast

A friend of the show, Frank Pomata, joins us to discuss how grandfathers can release their creative spirits with projects and play with their grandchildren. Frank and I enjoy catching up and talking about how Frank started creating books based on the interests of his grandson.

The first book, The Boy That Loved Garbage Trucks, is based on seeing a garbage truck making its rounds and following the truck. Frank asked his grandson, Lucian, what he thought was happening with the truck and the driver. Lucian’s response and questions formed a story that became a fun book that they enjoy.

Frank encourages all grandfathers to play with their grandchildren and let the grandfather’s creative side come forward to create stories and scenarios for play with their grandchildren. Frank and I hope all grandfathers let their hair down, play with the grandchildren, create fun stories, and release their creative side.

This is an important and fun conversation. I hope you share it with your other family and friends after you have listened to this show. Sharing is the best way to help me spread the word about the importance of grandfathers in the lives of their grandchildren and families.
