Our conversation with Brian Abram

Brian Abram joins us to talk about his experience with being a grandfather. We also discuss how Brian’s bicycling accident left him a paraplegic and wheelchair-bound. To explain why he was in a wheelchair, Brian devised a fun and highly exaggerated story for his grandson.

You will enjoy how Brian has turned his accident into a charming way to talk to children about disabilities and how life is an adventure, and while we don’t all travel the same path, we can all be kind to each other. Brian enjoys taking his characters, Charlie and Grandad Wheels, into schools and engaging the young children to use their imaginations to come up with their explanations about how Grandad got his wheels and what adventures they would have with Grandad Wheels.
